I've spent two years in prison relaying stories sent by letters to a blogger about my crimes, arrests, and life in four Florida prisons, the Pinellas County Jail, juvenile detention and drug rehab. I'm sending a message to others not to make the same mistakes I did.

Hope

"You learn best from your worst mistakes." - Teen in Jail

I write a lot of stuff about my past experiences, but for now I want to write about my hope for the future.

All my life I've never had a dream.

The only thing I've ever had to look forward to is a release date.

Now - even though I'm in jail - I now have a hope for a better future, not only for me, but for other youth as well.

When I am released (whenever that may be) I am going to continue to write my blogs and hopefully be given an opportunity to speak at youthful offender programs.

I know from experience that some kids don't want to change - because I didn't want to change either.

Now I'm hoping for a better future for myself. So if I can do it, then anyone can.

  1. This is SUCH a cool blog! I'm glad you're doing this, and I hope it helps other kids.

  2. So happy to see you using this time constructively. Do you have a library there at the county Jail?
